GST Administration Report

GST Administration Annual Performance Report 2023-24

The ATO has released the GST administration annual performance report 2023-24, which covers the system's performance over the past year and the key focus areas for 2024-25. Here are our key takeaways from the report:
  • GST collections were $84.9 billion, $3.6 billion more than in 2022-23
  • The ATO raised $3 billion in liabilities through compliance activities
  • The net GST gap for 2022-23 was estimated to be 9%.

Trans Tasman Electronic Invoicing Arrangement

The revised Australian and New Zealand Government Electronic Invoicing Arrangement is now available on the Australian Treasury website. The purpose of this arrangement is to support the adoption of eInvoicing by maintaining a common approach across both countries and creating an interoperable single digital economic market across the Tasman.
