Holidays Act Reform
In a speech to
the Employment and Manufacturers Association on 13 December, Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety, Hon Brooke van
Velden announced a change to the proposed direction of the Holidays Act reform. Minister van Velden has directed officials to begin
work on an hours-based accrual model for annual leave and to consider whether greater simplicity can be achieved. Read more in the press

Australia-New
Zealand Government Electronic Invoicing Arrangement
The Australian Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services, the Hon Stephen Jones MP, and New Zealand's Minister of Commerce
and Consumer Affairs, the Hon Andrew Bayly, have recently signed a revised
Australia-New Zealand Government Electronic Invoicing
Arrangement.
This arrangement recognises Australia and New Zealand's ongoing collaboration to support eInvoicing adoption. Read more in the press

Changes
for Businesses Starting 1 January 2025
There are a number of changes impacting businesses that are coming into effect from 1 January 2025, including:
- Criminalising intentional wage underpayments
- Changes to entry-level classifications in

Australian Signals
Directorate Limited Use Obligation
The recent passing of the Intelligence Services and
Other Legislation Amendment (Cyber Security) Act 2024 has established a
limited use obligation for the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). The limited use obligation provide additional protections to the
information organisations voluntarily provide to ASD. More information about the limited use obligation can be found here.
